Childrens workshops

Circomedia can provide workshops in all circus skills for groups of children and young people. We can come to you with a range of circus equipment and provide a fun yet challenging range of activities.

For our regular after-school and holiday youth circus sessions held at Circomedia for 5-17 year olds (City Circus) please click here.

Workshops are tailored to your group in terms of their age, the activities we include and the length of time the session lasts. Our workshops are very flexible and we can either run a structured session where we move from one activity to another or alternatively sessions can be more informal “drop in” type events where participants come and go and learn at their own pace.

Activities can include juggling, plate spinning, diabolo, acrobalance (human pyramid building), tightwire and (if taking place in our space) trapeze.

All of our workshop tutors have enhanced CRB checks and have completed a professional teacher training course specific to the teaching of circus skills.

Workshops are available at any location although travel expenses may be payable for events outside of Bristol. For children’s birthday parties we can come to you or we can run sessions at our Kingswood site or for special birthdays or events St Paul’s church is available to hire.

"I just wanted to thank you and the workshop tutor for two very enjoyable workshops last week. All the children’s evaluations reflect them having a great time and what is interesting is that I ask the question ‘What did you like best’ and there was a wide spread of responses, some liking the human pyramid, some the juggling, plates, or diabolos so there was something to please everyone. Some of the children attending are going through difficult family times at the moment so it was good to see these children engaged in such fun activities."
