City Circus

Based in Circomedia’s new centre in St. Paul’s church, Portland Square ‘City Circus’ is an exciting programme of circus skills classes for 6-18 year olds. There are weekly sessions and more intensive work in school holidays.

Children and young people will get the chance to try out stilts, juggling, trapeze, walking globe, acrobatics and lots, lots more. There will also be opportunities to get qualifications and join a performing group.

Project Aim
Use circus to enable disadvantaged children and young people to overcome socio-economic disadvantages to achieve their full potential in life.

What do we mean by disadvantage?
For example:

One parent families

Low income families

Children and young people that are getting in trouble or struggling at school

Children and young people at risk, or already involved in crime

As the programme is based in St. Paul’s we would like to encourage families from the black and ethnic minorities to use the centre.
