How To Apply

Foundation Degree (FdA) in Contemporary Circus and Physical Performance:

All applications to the Foundation Degree must be made through UCAS.  However please disregard the deadlines on the UCAS website.  Auditions are held in May, July and August and applications for this year can be made up to the date of the final audition.  Applications can be done online at www.ucas.com.  Our listing on the UCAS website is shown as campus H of Bath Spa University under the following headings/codes:

Course title: Contemporary circus and Physical Performance.

Short Code: FdA/CCPP

Jacs code: W900

After initial processing by Bath Spa University, all applications will be considered by Circomedia and all candidates deemed appropriate for the course and who can satisfy the standard academic entry requirements will be invited to audition.

At audition, candidates are assessed on individual merit.  Those invite to audition are likely to be asked to submit some supplementary information prior to the audition date as well as two passport size photos and the audition fee of £30. Acceptable methods of payment are cheques/bank drafts (drawn on a British Bank, if you are from outside UK), postal orders and traveller's cheques. We cannot accept credit/debit cards or Eurocheques, and do not recommend you send cash through the post.
If you are successful, we will then invite you to audition.

Auditions are held three times a year and students will need to attend the day offered in order that decisions can be made in line with UCAS deadlines.  At audition, you will have a taste of all the skill areas, plus movement and performance.  You will be required to present a three minute performance piece in a style and skill of your choice in addition to being interviewed.  In some instances students may be asked to produce some additional written work or do a short presentation on a given subject.  (Advance notice will be given if this is the case)

Audition Videos, CDs or DVDs
Applicants resident outside Europe may audition by video, CD or DVD. We suggest that this should include a short section of any public performances, practice sessions and a section talking to the camera explaining who you are and why you want to do a course at Circomedia. You should concentrate on what you're good at. Creativity and the ability to perform are just as important as skills, so you should not worry if you do not have any circus skills already.
