Al Seed creates visually striking physical theatre which he tours nationally and internationally. He attained a Masters in Theatre, Film and Television Studies from the University of Glasgow (1994-98) and then attended Circomedia (2000-01) where he specialised in physical theatre, mask-making and acrobatics. Al then went on to further training in Bouffon with celebrated French practitioner Philippe Gaulier and Tragedy with Nicole Kehrberger.

Al was one of the founding members of Glasgow's Vanishing Point Theatre Company (1998) before going on to establish Hoax Productions with Ivan Marcos in 2000. As well as working with these companies Al has developed solo shows and collaborated with a variety of companies in the UK and abroad as an artist in residence and director.

Al has contributed heavily towards the development of physical performance in Scotland. He is the founding Artistic Director of Conflux, Scotland's national organisation for the promotion of physical performance and creators of the annual SURGE Festival, as well as the co-founder of Fife College's Diploma in Physical Theatre (2008-present) which is the only qualification of its kind in Scotland.

In November of 2016 Circomedia was proud to welcome Al to our Portland Square venue for a performance of his newest show Oog which has been touring the UK throughout 2017.

You can find more information about Al and his work on his website.
