Chief Executive of Circomedia Announcement
After three incredible years at Circomedia, Zannah Chisholm has made the decision to step down as Chief Executive and will leave the organisation in June to pursue her consultancy work.
Zannah has led Circomedia with dedication, care, ambition and outstanding leadership – helping to rejuvenate and steer the organisation during a time when many arts organisations have been navigating a challenging operating environment.
The Board would like to express its gratitude for Zannah’s commitment and achievements as CEO and thank her for all she has brought to the organisation.
Zannah has been an incredible leader for Circomedia. We are hugely grateful for the care, skill and dedication she has shown in steering the organisation through a period of enormous change. She will always be a valued member of the Circomedia family, and we wish her every future success.
– Circomedia Co-Chairs Andy Hay & Laura Tanner
Zannah reflects on her time at Circomedia: “It has been an honour to work with such passionate and talented people, creating and promoting circus and theatre that provides joy to so many. During my time here we have created many new shows, supported hundreds of talented people of all ages to train in circus and reached 30,000 people through our classes, workshops and shows.
I’ve been particularly proud of our person-centred formal education programme, including our BTEC and degree courses which, along with other circus, performing and creative arts qualifications, feed the vibrancy of the UK creative industries.”
Deputy CEO, Tom Newman, will serve as acting CEO on an interim basis while the Board recruits new leadership for Circomedia. Tom brings significant experience from previous leadership roles at Knowle West Media Centre and Super Culture, as well as roles at Arts Council England and Bristol museums, and will provide continuity during this period.
More information about the new leadership recruitment process will follow in the coming weeks.
