Flying Trapeze Classes

Our Flying Trapeze classes offer you the chance to discover this most dramatic aerial circus skill. At our spectacular venue in St Paul’s Church you’ll learn to fly on the only indoor full-sized rig in the UK!

We are hoping to start running one-off sessions or weekend intensives. Please follow our social media or sign up to our newsletter to find out when dates will be released!

Session Details

Sessions are normally held on our Full Flying Days, approx. once a term throughout the year on a Saturday or Sunday. We occasionally have bank holiday sessions or evening sessions. We’ll roll out booking dates as soon as we know more about when sessions can return.

Indoor flying takes place at St Pauls Church, BS2 8SJ.

Sessions

Beginners’ Under 18s Flying TrapezeA 1-hour session for children aged 10+ who want to take to the skies! This is an introduction to Flying Trapeze, perfect for first time or inexperienced flyers. There’s plenty of time to get a few swings in and try some tricks, there will not be a catcher in these sessions. We recommend that students are at least 4’7″ in height, because this is a full-sized rig and can be tricky for shorter students. However, get in touch if you’re not sure as there are often workarounds.

Improvers’ Under 18s Flying Trapeze

A 2-hour session for children aged 10+ who have done a few flying sessions before. Flying Trapeze is a different skill from other aerial apparatus and while skills do transfer, students must have taken part in a previous flying Trapeze class either with us or at another rig. In these sessions students will work towards more complex tricks and have the opportunity to swing any suitable tricks to a catcher. We recommend that students are at least 4’7″ in height, because this is a full-sized rig and can be tricky for shorter students. However, get in touch if you’re not sure as there are often workarounds.

Beginners’ Adult (18+) Flying Trapeze

A 2-hour session gives you time to get to grips with the basics, and start to work on some simple tricks such as swinging from your legs and working with a catcher (a second trapezist who catches your wrists from the other side). Perfect for first-timers or those who have done just a few sessions before, or want to continue working on nailing the basics – such as Knee Hang, Hox off, Straddle Whip and Splits.

Improvers’ Adult (18+) Flying TrapezeA 2-hour session for flyers with a good amount of flying experience. Students should be cleared to swing out of lines and comfortable working on the platform without belt holds. These sessions will allow you to really step it up a notch and work on more complex tricks, returns, and catches.

Our Flying Trapeze classes are one-off sessions throughout the year. You can see any upcoming dates below.

If you are looking for a more regular trapeze experience, you can find out more about our regular Static Trapeze classes here.
