This 3 day short course serves as the perfect introduction to the exciting discipline of doubles trapeze. In duo trapeze artists create shapes, tricks, and transitions through counter-balance, hanging from each other, or spinning and swinging around each other. In these sessions, students will work in pairs and small groups learning the basics of partner aerial work, before moving on to an exciting blend of dynamic and traditional tricks and sequences. Students will work with an experienced teacher, and will learn through demonstrations, spotting, and working in our lunge belt safety harness.

This specialist aerial taster session will focus on one the most thrilling and visually stunning aerial acts – the Spanish web. This exciting discipline involves students being spun around on a rope, while being ‘locked in’ to a hand loop. As the performers are spun, they create various shapes and transitions, which change as the speed of the spinning increases or decreases. Students will learn the basics of spinning, with simple shapes, before progressing on to ‘1 handed spinning’, fast spins, and foot spins. Students should be comfortable with basic climbing of rope or silks, and the sensation of spinning.

This specialist aerial taster session will focus on our most recent exciting aerial purchase aerial net! The net is a strong, flexible, knotless mesh apparatus rigged on a single point, allowing students to perform dynamic, creative routines blending strength and flexibility, similar to aerial hammock or cocoon, but with unique visual possibilities for spins, drops, and contortions. Students will learn a variety of basis tricks, shapes, as well as beginning to look at more dynamic transitions and sequences.

These sessions give students the opportunity to try flying trapeze on our indoor big rig at St Pauls Church. The sessions are designed for beginner and improver students alike. Whether you are just beginning your flying trapeze journey, or returning once again to keep working towards catching a certain trick, these classes are for you. Our sessions are suitable for students aged 8 – 18 and are open to all levels – you don’t need to have any experience.
