Circus as Drawing Symposium
CANCELLED: Thursday 8 January 2026
After the success of our Circus as Drawing Symposiums in Spring and Summer 2025, we’re pleased to continue to offer a space for circus and visual artists to come together.
Join us at our Kingswood training facilities for a shared exploration of movement, mark-making and creative practice. These sessions bring together drawing, painting and circus physicality, creating space for collaboration and experimentation.
Whether you’re a circus artist interested in refining the expressive, gestural qualities of your performance, or a visual artist curious about expanding the physicality of your drawing practice, this programme offers time and space to explore in a supportive environment.
Together, we’ll consider how bodies in motion create marks, how drawing is physical, and how these practices inform one another. Expect to sketch, move, perform, reflect and play.
You can see what some of our Spring participants explored in this blog Sachin Babbar’s blog here.

The footage and images you see at the top of this page are from our pilot three-day symposium in Spring 2025. This was a ground-breaking collaborative workshop between circus and visual artists that has inspired the trajectory of this next phase of Circus as Drawing at Circomedia.
