Meet the Graduates – Class of 2026

Every graduate’s journey is different. Whatever comes next, each member of the Class of 2026 leaves Circomedia with their own ambitions, creative voice and story to tell.

Like many circus artists, our graduates are likely to build portfolio careers, combining performing, teaching, directing, creating their own work, technical roles, community projects and further training. There is no single path after Circomedia, and that’s reflected in the stories you’ll find below.

Billie Bailey-Stocken

(she/her)

Instagram handle: @_billietheclown

Main discipline/s: Aerial straps and clowning/ physical theatre

What is your career ambition?

My career ambition is to have a touring act or be part of a troupe that has a comedy educational act – very horrible history style. I did this for my Final Major Projects and I love communicating with audiences in this way and especially children.

What are your plans now you have graduated?

I am the comedy and drama teacher at Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) and a Pilates teacher. We are also continuing with our Pro Tour company (In a Pickle Circus) created during my final year at Circomedia, which I am the Stage Manager for.

I am reaching out to local theatres, trying to get ‘my foot in the door’ in the hope that we can begin to work together, as well as being signed with an Acting Agency.

Frankie Yarker

To be part of an acrobatic collective, to push the boundaries of clowning and comedy and to develop the art of self counter weighting into a more established practice.

What are your plans now you have graduated?

I’m planning to gain my rigging qualifications, apply for artist residencies, and continue developing the research I began during my final year at Circomedia through the Practice as Research module (PAR).
