Our Admission Process
Applications are made through UCAS for our Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) top-up year.
Once we’ve received your application, we’ll review it to ensure our course is the right fit for you and your goals. If we believe you’ll thrive here, we’ll invite you to join us for a two-day audition workshop.
Auditions take place at our Kingswood site on: 13 & 14 February or 15 & 16 May, 2026.
If you can’t make those dates but still want to apply, let us know and we’ll try our best to accommodate you.
After your audition, you’ll hear back from the admissions team with your result. This can take up to one – two weeks.

The Auditions
Our two-day audition workshop at the Kingswood site is relaxed, supportive, and all about getting to know you. There are no cut off points during the two days.
1) Workshop sessions in movement, physical theatre, aerial, juggling and acrobatics.
2) A twenty-minute interview
3) A fitness test
4) A written reflective task
5) To perform a two-minute audition piece you have prepared prior to the audition
For the workshop sessions we’re not expecting perfection. We just want to see your curiosity, enthusiasm and willingness to give things a go. As for the audition piece, this isn’t about being “performance-ready”, it’s simply an opportunity to show us something you enjoy doing and how you connect with the audience.
The interview is a short, friendly 20-minute chat with us about why you’re interested in Circomedia and what excites you creatively. It’s also your chance to ask us anything you’d like to know.
Throughout the two days, our team will be there to support you, answer questions, and help you feel at home.
There is a non-refundable audition fee of £60. We offer a limited number of audition fee waivers. To apply for this you must be; a UK resident, applying for our Foundation or BA degree, have no previous degree qualifications and have an annual household income of less than £25,000 (pre-tax). If you would like more information about the criteria and how to apply for this waiver, please get in touch with our Admissions team.
We want to see your enthusiasm, how you work with others, your creativity, and your performance skills. Don’t worry about being perfect, we’re here to support you, help you grow, and develop your skills and artistic voice throughout the course.
Solo:
Your solo should be 2–3 minutes and showcase your strengths. Don’t worry if you don’t have lots of circus experience, we love seeing anything that gives us a glimpse of who you are, like monologues, dance, comedy, or other creative ideas.
If your solo involves acrobatics and you’d like to work with a partner, just let us know beforehand so we can make sure they can join you.
Interview:
You’ll have a relaxed 20-minute chat with two of our staff. Have a think about your interests, passions, and what you hope to achieve. Also think about your experience with contemporary circus and what you are excited about learning here. Think of it more as a conversation than a test. It is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions about the course too.
If you’re coming from out of town, you’ll need to sort out somewhere to stay. There are lots of options nearby, from Airbnbs and hotels to hostels.
If booking accommodation is tricky for you financially, don’t worry just get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to make sure you can still join the audition.
