Diploma courses
We are offering a new series of courses and professional enhancement opportunities, starting in 2025.
This is a new suite of training courses to support both professionals and those newer to circus.
Our Diploma Courses are offered at our bespoke circus campus in Kingswood, Bristol, and represent a continuation of our commitment to excellence in the training, performing and artistic development of circus physicality.
STUDY IN A PROFESSIONAL CIRCUS ENVIROMENT: DEVELOP, INNOVATE, REFLECT, AND GROW.
For those wishing to study with us on a mid-long term basis, without undertaking our BSU accredited degree.
Our Diploma courses present the opportunity to train with us in three-month terms. These can be extended to a full year and offer training in a range of circus disciplines, physical theatre, movement techniques, and creative projects.
In each three-month term there are three training blocks available to you: Discipline, Performance, and Circus Making. You can choose up to one of each per term.
These blocks can be made up of training segments that will help you to reach your goals, to create a full Circomedia experience that gives you circus skill, stagecraft and dance technique, and the ability to critically reflect and devise your own circus acts.
By selecting three of these segments per term you will be able to create your own bespoke year with us here at Circomedia. Entry points can be negotiated with us to be in basic group classes or more individual one-to-one engagements.
In this way you could stay with us for the full three years to earn our unique Circomedia Circus Diploma.
When can you join?
All entry points for our Diploma courses are in September, unless there are specific abilities that you wish to enhance with us, then starting dates can be similarly negotiated.
What training segments are available?
You can select up to one of each of the following segments per term:
Discipline – skills classes in aerial, acrobatics or juggling, depending on your selection.
Performance – classes in physical theatre and movement technique.
Circus Making / Creative Project – support and mentoring to make a complete circus act or show according to a specific brief.

We will discuss your current level, your ambitions and suggest the best Diploma outcome for you.
If you are a professional, alumnus or someone of experience looking to elevate your practice, make a new piece of work, or develop work for a funding bid, why not sign up to receive training space and specific mentoring from one of our highly trained professional teachers. (This can also be done remotely, through regular online sessions.) How much does it cost?
Costs of the Circus Diploma Course vary according to your engagement. Signing up for longer periods or more blocks will grant you a saving, but you can sign up to all sections of our Diploma separately.
BY TERM: Cost for one x three-month term of all three blocks costs £3,195, or each block can be purchased individually for £1,200.
BY YEAR: A full year with us (3 x 3 months) of all three blocks will cost £9,120, or each year block can be purchased individually for £3,500.
All combinations guarantee you immersion in our friendly and creative community and grant you access to our bespoke circus studios, and to our expert staff who can train you, guide you, and support you in your future engagement with the circus sector.
