BTEC
Applications for our BTEC 2026/27 course are now open!
This course is fully funded by the government for learners under 19, so if you’re 16–18, this is an amazing opportunity not to miss. If you have any queries or want to find out more about the course or funding, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our admissions team at admissions@circomedia.com.
To apply, complete these three steps:
1.Fill out the Application Form below.
2.Send a short video of a performance or movement piece (max 3 minutes). Focus on what you’re good at (creativity and performance are just as important as technical skills). Have fun with it! You can even send a piece you’ve done before. We accept YouTube, Flickr, or other links, if the quality is good.
3.Complete the attached written task. You can type it or handwrite it, then email a photo or scanned copy. Aim for around 500 words.
Once we have received your application form and audition video, we will invite you to an interview by email. The interview will be held virtually on Teams. We will be asking you these questions, so please have a look and think about your answers before the interview. The interview will only last around 20 minutes, so preparation is key!
Applications will be reviewed by the Course Leader. We will contact you by email no later than one week after your application to confirm we have received your submission. If you do not hear back within that time, please contact us. You will receive an email letting you know the date and time of your interview.
To apply for this course, you need to:
- Be 16–18 years old on 31st August before the course starts
- No previous circus experience is required. You will have some ability in a physical or performance-related skill like; dance, drama, gymnastics, parkour, or martial arts
- Have GCSEs in English and Maths (grades 9–4) or Functional Skills Level 2
- Be fit and ready for a practical course
We also recommend having at least four GCSE passes at grades 9–4 to help you keep up with the academic side, though this isn’t essential.
If you’re successful, your course fees will be covered by the government.
