Circomedia have first aid and safeguarding policies in place to protect students and applicants whilst in our care. Please refer to our website.
However, it is your responsibility to consult your GP or other healthcare professional before participating in audition or committing to any Circomedia courses. This is especially relevant if you answered ‘yes’ to any of the conditions listed on the Audition Physical Readiness form.
Please do not start the audition or course or any specific class or activity if your doctor or other healthcare professional advised against it.
If you experience faintness, dizziness, pain or shortness of breath at any time whilst exercising at Circomedia you should stop immediately and notify the tutor or examiner during audition/class.
If you suffer any serious injury or are diagnosed with a physical/mental health condition during study, it may mean you need to stop studying at Circomedia. This could mean intercalating and beginning the course again or even withdrawing completely. Circomedia are not liable for any loss of money/funding incurred from having to restart the academic year or halt study.
If you are concerned in any way that any condition or diagnosis of yours may put you at risk of not being able to complete your studies then please consult a relevant medical professional prior to committing financially.
As injury can cause a financial loss, we strongly recommend all students seek medical advice before beginning the programme. Circomedia staff are not medical practitioners and offer no professional medical advice regarding the effect of our courses on a student’s health or wellbeing. No refunds will be given.
You should understand that when participating in any exercise or training programme, there is the possibility of physical injury. Also, most circus skills intrinsically have an element of risk. While Circomedia will take reasonable measures to reduce the risk, all possibility of injury cannot be eliminated. If you engage in such exercise or training while studying, you agree that you do so at your own risk, that you are voluntarily participating in these activities, that you assume all risk of injury to yourself, and agree to release and discharge Circomedia from any and all claims or causes of action, known or unknown.
