NEW SHORT COURSE DIPLOMAS
ENCOUNTER, ELEVATE, UPSKILL, CREATE NEW WORK
We are enhancing our growing offer of circus performance training with a new suite of masterclasses and beginner engagements and we are thrilled to announce that both UK based and international attendees are able to join these courses.
In July, as part of our new Diploma offering, we are hosting several renowned pedagogues in improv, theatre, mime, and clown, and are also, in partnership with Above and Beyond, offering workshops in flying trapeze.

With most courses taking place across one week, our Kingswood training site will become a hub of circus and performance creativity, providing a fantastic opportunity to engage with fellow creatives across the programme to share ideas and build connections.
Circus as Drawing Symposium

Back by popular demand after a successful Circus as Drawing Symposium in March 2025, we are excited to continue to offer Artistic Research Partnerships that are open to both circus and visual artists this summer.
Come and explore with us at our Kingswood training facilities, where artists can collaborate through mixing drawing and painting with circus physicality.
18+ all levels, cost £85 per session. £35 life drawing options available.
Devising using Movement and Circus
Wed 2 – Thu 3 July
– with Emily Orme
Join us over two days to take part in this contact improv movement course.
The mornings will be based around contemporary release technique, followed by a collaboration session exploring contact improvisation. Afternoons will include devising skills sessions using movement flow as a platform to discover the possibilities within the physicality of devised circus.

Embodiment of the Performer
Mon 14 – Thu 17 July
– with Moira Hunt
Using the technique of Etienne Decroux corporeal mime as a physical language the focus of this 4-day intensive will be on developing the performer’s intuitive, responsive and articulate awareness of space, those within it and their relationship to the subject material.
Drawing on a variety of practices we will explore a process of generating material from the articulate and informed physicality of the performer.
21+ Designed for professionals, £400 all in.
Intensive Devising Workshops
Mon 14 – Tue 15 July
– with George Orange Fuller
Two days; Physical Theatre and circus devising for small groups and solos.
George Orange Fuller, Offie Award winner and UK theatre award nominee in dance, circus and physical theatre will guide a two day devising workshop. The focus will be on learning devising tasks, creating creative chaos to distil and putting process before product. George’s workshop is rooted in Bogart/Landau’s Viewponts as well as contemporary circus and outdoor theatre.

Clowning for Performance
Wed 16 – Thu 17 July
– with George Orange Fuller
Two days; Clowning for performance.
George Orange Fuller has worked as a street and circus clown for 35 years. Offie Award winner and UK Theatre Award nominee performer of dance, circus and physical theatre will guide this two day Clowning workshop. The focus will be on creating short pieces for performance in any venue. If you are new to clowning or an old hand looking to create something new come along to this once a year opportunity to work with George.

Come and Fly! Flying Trapeze Workshops
Wed 16 & Thu 17 July
– with Above and Beyond
Feel the wind in your hair and the thrill of flying through space above the net on the company’s bespoke rig. There is no experience like it.
Above and Beyond will be offering a limited number of places on Weds 16th and Thursday 17th Between 4:15pm and 6:15pm. You can book these have-a go-sessions in addition to joining any of our other courses.
18+ all levels, cost £35 per 2hr slot.
Beginners’ Physical Theatre Games
Sat 19 July
– with Moira Hunt
A one-day workshop in beginner’s Physical Theatre techniques and games. For those looking to dip their toe in this exciting mode of physical expression, this workshop is ideal. Moira Hunt, our resident Head of PT will take you through a basic introduction to this exciting form. Playful, but with clear structures. Come and enjoy the infinite game of Physical Theatre!
18+ Prior experience needed, cost £80 per day.
Our NEW Artistry in Circus Diploma
Starting in September 2025, we are enhancing our former Vocational Course offering and launching a series of professionally accredited Circus Arts Diploma opportunities.
These can last for 3 month to 3 years and are tailorable to your interests, abilities and needs.
